The national standard in acquiring an EKG on patients with chest
pain is 10 minutes or less!! This is a very aggressive goal and one that
All three interventional facilities are committed to. We have made great
strides in achieving this but there is always room for improvement. This
is where you can help!!! If there is a pre-hospital EKG in the patient’s
record, then the goal is automatically achieved.
1) Please label EMS EKG with patient’s name and date of birth
(hand written, ED Label, or typed on 12-lead)
2) Hand EMS EKG over to the RN/MD receiving report
