New staff - May 2009

QI Department – Dean Romano has been hired as the new REMO QI Coordinator. Dean is a full-time Rotterdam paramedic, and has extensive QA/QI and EMS management experience. Dean’s office hours will be T-W-Th (9a-3p). He can be reached at remoqi@nycap.rr.com, or 464-5097.

Training Department – Jay Tyler is the new REMO Training Coordinator. Jay works full-time for Guilderland EMS, and he has extensive experience in quality improvement, agency operations, and training. Jay’s office hours will be M-T (9a-3p) and Friday evenings (6:30-8:30). He can be reached at remotraining@nycap.rr.com or 464-5097.

Protocol Development- May 2009

The Academic Committee and REMAC continue to examine protocol changes/additions/deletions for the next protocol release. Suggestions should be forwarded to Academic Committee Chairman Dr. Donald Doynow prior to September 1, 2009.

REMO continues a partnership with IT Manager Robbie MacCue to develop and modify “remo-als.com” . In an effort towards streamlining and paper reduction, remo-als.com provides internet access for all regional providers to access and track individual CME training classes and ALS skills modalities.
