This is an original course for first-time EMT candidates.
Class Times: Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Location: REMO, 24 Madison Ave Extension, Albany NY 12203

Saturday Lab Cohorts
To enhance hands-on learning and maintain smaller group sizes, students will register for one of two Saturday lab cohorts:
*ATTN: If you attempt to register for Cohort A it will drop from your cart as it is Full*
Cohort A: Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (FULL)
Cohort B: Saturdays from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Students will remain in their assigned cohort for all Saturday lab sessions.
Practical Skills Exam (PSE)
Cohort A: Saturday, August 8th at 9 AM
Cohort B: Sunday, August 9th at 9 AM

Affiliated student tuition - $900
Unaffiliated student tuition - $1300

Fee includes lab materials and print paperback textbook (includes digital textbook and online access codes) - $373
Registration Information
All students must pay course tuition & registration fee in-full at the time of registration.
Affiliated students - Those who currently work or volunteer with a NYS EMS agency. *Hospitals, urgent cares, and doctors’ offices are not considered EMS agencies.
Unaffiliated students - Those who do not work or volunteer with a NYS EMS agency.
NYS EMS agencies can request a $950 reimbursement from the NYSDOH Division of State EMS. In order for an EMS agency to be reimbursed for tuition paid, they must submit proof of the member's certification and the receipt for payment of the member's tuition for the course they completed. Time Commitment & Clinical Rotations
The course will meet three times a week (two weeknights & Saturday lab session), but students must dedicate time outside the classroom to complete homework, self-study, and clinical rotations.
Clinical rotations will occur outside of classroom hours, and students must be prepared to spend between 20 and 60 hours outside the classroom to complete their clinical requirements. Previous clinical rotation sites have included EMS agencies, hospital emergency departments (subject to hospital availability), and mass gathering events (subject to event availability).
