REMO is the first region in New York to register with the American Heart Association’s Mission Lifeline initiative. This registration demonstrates our comprehensive system of care for heart attack patients. Mission Lifeline registration demonstrates the comprehensive and collegial process developed to care for STEMI patients by all of our EMS providers, community hospitals and angioplasty centers: Albany Medical Center, Ellis Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital.
Mission Lifeline works to develop STEMI systems of care, ensuring that STEMI patients across the country can get the life-saving care they need within the critical time window. By bringing together healthcare resources into an efficient, synergistic system, improvements in the overall quality of care will occur. The needs of heart attack patients will be met throughout the continuum of care – from the time patients experience symptoms and enter the STEMI system, throughout each aspect of the system, and after returning to the local community and to their physician for rehabilitative care.

pain is 10 minutes or less!! This is a very aggressive goal and one that

strides in achieving this but there is always room for improvement. This
is where you can help!!! If there is a pre-hospital EKG in the patient’s
record, then the goal is automatically achieved.
1) Please label EMS EKG with patient’s name and date of birth
(hand written, ED Label, or typed on 12-lead)
2) Hand EMS EKG over to the RN/MD receiving report
